The course cluster Comparative Literature 3 entails a more demanding treatment of the themes and problems of comparative literature. It deals with fundamental conceptual problems of the contemporary comparative and world literature (relations between comparative literature and other humanistic and sociological disciplines, postcolonial theoretical aspects, etc.). Practical classes introduce students into independent comparative discussion of the relations between literary texts, art works and theoretical works in various historical cultures, especially from the perspective of literariness, otherness, intertextuality, intercultural mediation. The practical classes focus on the issues of the relationship between literature, culture (cultures), history, philosophy, sociology.
